Step-by-Step Instructions:

Starting Off:

  1. Begin by placing a slip knot on your 6 mm hook. Even though this hook is smaller than what you'd typically use with super chunky yarn, it helps keep your stitches tight and neat.

Crocheting Around the Ring:

  1. Insert your hook into the ring, pull up a loop, and pull it around to the front.
  2. Yarn over and pull through both loops on your hook to complete a single crochet.
  3. Continue making single crochets around the ring. Keep your stitches tight and work over your yarn tail so you can snip it off later.
  4. Once the ring is completely covered, join with a slip stitch to the first single crochet and fasten off, leaving a tail long enough to thread onto a darning needle.

Adding Beads and Tassels:

  1. Thread the tail onto a darning needle and add a small wooden bead to the bottom.
  2. Tie a knot directly under the bead. A little trick to get the knot snug under the bead: tie a normal knot, insert the darning needle into the knot loop, and pull it down to the bead before tightening.
  3. Trim the tail, leaving a small amount that will unravel slightly to create a cute little tassel.

Creating the Hanging Loop:

  1. Cut a piece of twine longer than you think you'll need.
  2. Thread both ends of the twine onto the darning needle.
  3. Find the stitch at the top of your ornament, or adjust the stitches slightly to make sure there's one at the top. Insert the needle from back to front through this stitch.
  4. Loop the twine back through the loop and pull it tight to secure the hanging loop.

Adding Beads and Final Touches:

  1. Thread a couple of beads onto the twine. You can add a bit of hot glue inside the beads to keep them in place if you'd like.
  2. Tie a knot at the end of the twine to secure the beads.

Making and Attaching the Bow:

  1. Use some jute twine to tie a simple bow, just like in my granny square Christmas tree video.
  2. Add a bit of hot glue to the back of the bow and stick it onto the wreath, either at the top or bottom—your choice!
  3. Let the glue dry and your ornament is ready to hang!
