Happy Crochet - Ten quick & easy projects to make while you are stuck indoors..

Hi everyone, we all need a little crochet to stop us from going stir crazy during this time.  So I have conjured up ten quick and easy projects that will put a smile on your face.

The instant gratification of small projects always cheers me up no matter how I am feeling and I am sure we can all do with some colourful, crochet cheeriness right now.  The patterns are all free and have been selected by my favourite designers, I hope you find something you like.

Happy Crochet 10 Quick & Easy Projects

This first project is by my good friend Marjan of Atelier Marie-Lucienne and aren't these guys just adorable.  There is no way you could not have a smile on your face while crocheting up these cute little critters.

Crochet Ladybirds

If you are feeling a little glum, then this gorgeously, colourful, daisy, bunting will certainly cheer you up.  Crochet up a rainbow and hang it in your window and spread the cheeriness.  The pattern is by Crochet Cloudberry.

Rainbow Bunting

Appliques make a great addition to many crochet items.  Add them to hats, cushions, anything you can think of.  These cute little pears are just adorable.  Pattern by Raffamusa Designs.

Little Pear Crochet Applique

Another thing that always make me feel cheery, are handmade wash or dishcloths.  So use up your cotton stash and crochet up these pretty pastel cloths.  Pattern by Crafting Each Day.

Stashbusting Washcloths

I just love this drawstring bag and wouldn't it make a lovely gift.  The pattern is by Sincerely Pam.

Drawstring Basket

I don't know if you remember but I recently featured a pretty Spring Blossom scarf in a recent roundup by Golden Lucy Crafts.  Here we have the matching headband, a great quick and simple project to make and any little girl would love to wear this pretty floral headband.

Another adorable make from Thoresby Cottage.  How cute is this little guy?  Give your plants some personality with this crochet teddy bear planter.

The weather is starting to warm and these crochet mitts are a great in between seasons item and look so pretty crocheted in variegated yarn.  The pattern is by Stitches 'n' Scraps.

Mesh Mitts

Hair scrunchies are always a great instant gratification project and this pattern by Knitting With Chopsticks includes the design with three different yarn weights, making this great for stash busting.

Summer Berries Scrunchies

And finally we have these oh so pretty flowers by Annie Design Crochet.  Colourful, crochet, flowers never fail to bring a smile to my face.  I love the colours she has chosen for these beautiful blooms.

Technical issues!

Morning everyone.  Blogger is currently having some technical issues and I am unable to upload any photos and many photos previously uploaded have disappeared.  As a consequence, this weekends post will have to be delayed until the problem has been fixed.  Hopefully this will be rectified soon.  Apologies for the delay. I hope you all are well and I will be back very soon.

All the best

Super Easy No Knead Bread - Store Cupboard Recipe

This bread is so simple and can be made from ingredients you already have in your pantry.  The finished loaf is very similar to ciabatta.  It's delicious for sandwiches the day it's baked and perfect for toast or bruschetta the next day.

No kneading is required as the dough is left over night and time does all the work for you.

Easy Peasy No Knead Bread

Ingredients

3 cups flour (bread flour or plain flour)
1½ cups water
1tsp salt
½tsp dried yeast

  • Add all the ingredients to a bowl and mix well.  It should form a very sticky dough, with the consistency of very thick porridge.

  • Cover with cling film or a damp tea towel and leave overnight.  The next morning the dough should look bubbly and frothy.

  • Turn out onto a very well floured work surface and dust the dough and your hands with flour.

  • shape the dough with your hands by gently turning around and under, until if forms a round loaf shape

  • Leave to rest for 30 mins.

  •  Meanwhile heat your oven to 180℃ and put your dutch oven or loaf tin inside to heat up.

  • Scoop up your dough and place in the dutch oven and cook with the lid on for 30 mins.

  • Remove lid and bake uncovered for a further 15 mins.

  • The bread should be golden and crusty when cooked and sound hollow when tapped.

  • Turn out onto a rack to cool

You will now have the most delicious, crusty, country style bread.  Cooking in the dutch oven is what gives this loaf its crust.  You can of course, just cook if in a normal loaf tin or baking sheet, if you don't have one or would like a softer crust.

I hope you will give it a try...

Hello everyone sorry this post is a little late, it should of gone out at the end of March and so without further ado let's take a little look at what has been going on last month...

Crochet Along With Me... (March edition)

So my temperature blanket is coming along nicely, I am really pleased with how it is looking so far and am really excited to see the introduction of new colours as we move into spring.  How are yours looking?  Make sure to share your photos with the Facebook group or use #lullabylodge on  Instagram.

It's getting so big now, it is really starting to look like a blanket and not just scraps of yarn

First few rounds in the warm peachy colour

This month we have been making beanies for our charity CAL and I have enjoyed making these hats.  A few basic beanies and also a smaller version of my Granny Square Beanie, made with smaller squares to fit a child or teen.

I hope these hats will make nice cosy heads.

Have you been joining in?  Have you been making hats to donate?  Make sure you let me know in the comments below...

This month I hosted again at Our Happy CAL Place and I chose a super cute tea cosy for our weekly project.  It was so fun to make, I have never made a tea cosy before so I really enjoyed making something new.  As you can see it features a granny square design (you know I am a sucker for a granny square) and was so quick and easy to make.  If you know someone that loves their tea, this would make a great gift.

Our Happy CAL Place has a new crochet along every week and also every month with different themes, so go on head on over there and check it out.  There is no obligation to join in, you can just take part in the ones your fancy.  It's a lovely friendly group and we all need to feel connected in these current times.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I will see you all again soon.
