This week we will be learning how to make these gorgeous, colourful, granny circles. I will also be showing you the maths for increasing your circles, so that you can make them any size you like. There is something about any kind of crochet made with granny clusters, that just makes me feel so happy and homey and of course a little colourful, crochet, hooky, will always brighten up any dreary day. A pretty shell border is the perfect way to finish off a crochet project. You can use it to edge a blanket, a hat or even the cuff of a sleeve... Simple Shell Edging Abbreviations US Terms dc - double crochet sc - single crochet sl st - slip stitch ch - chain sp - space Adding your border to a granny square... Starting on any odd numbered round, join your yarn with a sc, 3 spaces to the right of any corner, then work 7 dc into the next sp... ...and sc in the next sp. Now working into the corner sp. Into this and every corner make 9 dc... ...and then a sc into the next sp. Continue in this fashion around your granny square until you get back to the beginning. Granny Square Fingerless Mitts - Mini Mother's Day series part 2

Hello everyone, it's time for part 2 of our mini Mother's Day pattern series and this week we have the mitts to match the boot cuffs we made in part 1. It's another granny square design (you know how I love granny squares) and they are quick and easy to make. The mitts will fit an average adults hands but can be adjusted for bigger or smaller hands by going up or down a hook size. You could even use less rounds for your squares to make them the right size for a child. The pattern is easily adjustable. I have used Stylecraft Batik Elements in shade Magnesium and Stylecraft Batik in Cream to make my mitts, but you could use any colours you wish or make in just one colour. Hello friends. It's time for instalment three of our Charity Stash Bash CAL. If this is your first time here at Lullaby Lodge, you can find out all the crochet along details in the link below... This month we will be making these cute soap sacks. Soap is one of the requested items for the shoe box appeal and while sending someone soap as a gift may not seem appealing, adding these cute little cosies, will make bath time more fun for the children. Make sure to crochet them in lovely bright colours that they will love and remember to leave the packaging on your soap when packing up your shoe box. I have only removed mine to take the photos, I will be using fresh unopened bars of soap to donate. These cute soap sacks are so quick and easy to make, you could whip up a whole batch in no time at all. They use only a few grams of yarn, perfect for using up those last scraps of cotton. They would also make lovely gifts too, why not get ahead of all your Christmas makes.

They have been around for decades and the basic pattern is so easy to master. You only need to know a few basic stitches and in no time at all, you can create a gorgeous, squishy, stripy, colourful blanket, perfect for snuggles on the sofa.
