She Sells Sea Shells Washcloth - Free crochet pattern, part of the 2020 Charity Stash Bash CAL...

Hello everyone, it's time for the first pattern in our Charity Stash Bash CAL.  We are starting off with a simple, quick and easy wash cloth.  Toiletries are among the items listed, for you to add to your shoe boxes and a handmade cloth accompanied with a nice bar of soap will be a great addition.  You can pack your boxes yourself or take items you wish to donate to your local church (if they are participating).  This cloth has a seaside theme and will eventually be part of a spa set including face scrubbies, shower puff and soap sock.

Crochet Along With Me... January

Hello everyone, well hasn't this month been a busy one.  We have started not one but two CAL's, and another one is on the way.  I will post more details about the next CAL in a later post.  I have also been trying to finish up last year's temperature blanket and been taking part in other CAL's and KAL's over at Ravelry, and not only that but also working on new pattern designs.  I have something coming up very soon for Valentine's too...

Crochet Along With Me... (January edition)

So January started off with a bang and with a new temperature blanket pattern. I must say, I am really enjoying crocheting these teeny, tiny, squares each day.  So far I am managing to stay on track, let's hope it stays that way.

First few squares

Mostly the weather has been very mild here.  Only over the last few days has the temperature dropped a little and I have the addition of some blue rounds to my squares.

Slowly getting bigger.  What I have loved the most is seeing everyone's progress in the Facebook group.  So many different colour pallets and styles of blankets, can't wait to see them all develope.

We also had the start of the Gorgeous Grannies Crochet Along, which can you believe it is almost over.  Only a few days left to go.  It has been so much fun making these granny squares every day.

The pile is getting bigger.  I will be posting joining and border ideas and the finished blanket next month.

I have also joined a dishcloth knit along and crochet along group on Ravelry.  They have new patterns each week to either knit or crochet and the group is very friendly.  If you like to make dishcloths or want to learn new stitch patterns then this is a great way to do it.

Here are my cloths for the first two weeks

This week's pattern is a Mystery Kal, with a new part of the pattern released each day.  Here's mine after clue one...

I have linked all the patterns and groups up top to make it easy for you to find everything, should you wish to join in.  I do hope you will.  Make sure you are subscribed, we have a new cal starting very soon and you won't want you to miss it.

See you soon...

Magazine Feature! My Splashtime Knitted Washcloths have been featured in Let's Knit Magazine. How Exciting!!!

This morning whilst drinking my morning tea, I heard a big plop as the postman pushed something through my letterbox.  Little T rushed to fetch it for me, it was this month's copy of Let's Knit Magazine.  I excitedly leafed through the pages to find the one I was looking for.  One of my patterns has been featured in a quick knits for Christmas article.  This is the first time any of my patterns or work has been mentioned in a magazine and as I'm sure you will understand this was super exciting for me.

The article is called "Keep Calm This Christmas" and is full of quick knits and ideas for the festive season.  One section of the article includes some eco friendly gift ideas, and my Splashtime Knitted Washcloth pattern was featured.

The magazine is also jam packed with lots of wonderful knitting patterns and also comes with a free knit kit and bonus magazine with quick and easy Christmas Mini Knits.

Now which one shall I make first?

Tranquil Washcloth - CAL Central washcloth crochet along...

Hello friends!  It's the first week of the summer holidays here in the UK, so things at Lullaby Lodge are slowing down a little.  Little T and I are very busy out and about, enjoying the summer.  I will get back to all my regular posts in September, but don't worry I will still be squeezing in the odd post here and there.

We are now up to week six of the CAL Central Washcloth crochet along and this week's pattern is by Rhondda Mol from Oombawka Design.  Here is my interpretation of the Tranquil Washcloth.

The pattern is well written and easy to follow.  It uses front post stitches to create a lovely textural cloth.  I bet this would be great for gently exfoliating your skin, or make a fantastic dishcloth.  I used Scheepjes Cahlista yarn with a 4.5mm hook.  I found that my single crochet stitches were a bit too tight to easily work the Waistcoat stitch border, so I did my last two rounds in Linen stitch instead.

As always I added one of these labels.

You can find them along with some other designs in my Etsy Store...

Wattle Stitch Washcloth - CAL Central washcloth crochet along...

Hi everyone, I hope you are all enjoying the summer.  The school holidays have just started here and it's time to share week 5 of the CAL Central washcloth crochet along washcloths.  This week's pattern is called Wattle Stitch Washcloth and is designed by Erica Dietz from 5 Little Monsters blog.

This was another really quick and easy pattern, featuring the Wattle stitch which creates a lovey texture to the cloth.  Here is my version of Erica's Wattle Stitch Washcloth.

I used Scheepjes Cahlista cotton Aran yarn with a 5mm hook to make my washcloth, but the pattern actually calls for DK yarn with a 4mm hook.  I prefer to make mine using thicker yarn and I have many more colours to choose from in this yarn weight...

As usual I added one of my labels to give it a more professional look.  These are great if you are planning on gifting your cloths.  You can find these labels in my Etsy store...

Why not join in the fun, it's not too late to start.  CAL Central has a very active Facebook group where you can go and chat and share your photos and see what everyone else is making...
