A Festive Crochet Project for the Holidays
Granny squares are incredibly versatile, and this Christmas Tree version is a fun way to celebrate the season. You can make a single square to use as a coaster or create a larger project like a blanket, cushion cover, or garland. Each square can be personalised with different colour choices, making every project unique. It’s also a fun way to use up leftover yarn and experiment with small decorative touches like tiny buttons, or embroidered accents.
What to Make With Your Christmas Tree Squares
Once you’ve mastered the Christmas Tree Granny Square, there are endless possibilities:
-
Stitch them together for a holiday blanket or throw
-
Create festive cushion covers for your living room
-
Make a garland or bunting to decorate your mantelpiece
-
Use them as coasters for holiday drinks
-
Turn smaller squares into gift bags or decorative pouches
-
Make table runners or placemats
Fun Colour Combinations to Try
The look of your squares can change entirely depending on your colour choices. You could go classic with beautiful evergreen trees, or create a wintery vibe with snowy white trees. Mixing colours is a great way to create a collection of squares that all feel unique and festive.
