Infinity Scarf - Our Happy CAL Place, weekly crochet along group on Ravelry...

Image
Hello everyone, this week at Our Happy CAL Place we have been making this Infinity Scarf , pattern by Brenda Grobler.  If you like a good crochet along then be sure to check this group out.  They feature both weekly and monthly crochet alongs and there is always something for everyone. This was a nice quick and easy project, the pattern was well laid out and easy to understand.  I made a few alterations, making my scarf half the length stated in the pattern.  I will be donating this scarf to our local church to use in the shoe box appeal and I didn't want it to take up the whole box.  The original pattern has the scarf wrapping around twice.  I also added a twist before sewing mine together. Here is my interpretation of Brenda Grobler's  Infinity Scarf The design uses the Iris stitch pattern which I love... My version wraps around the neck once with a twist in the front. I used Stylecraft Jeanie yarn with a 5mm hook, it's my first time

The "Diane Rachael" granny square, a tutorial by Lullaby Lodge...

Hello friends, I have a really special pattern to share with you today, this pretty granny square.  Sadly a year ago we buried my sister Diane.  She suffered for many years from Multiple Sclerosis, a truly terrible disease.  I wanted to make something in her honour and so the Diane Rachael Square was born.   My sister loved the colour yellow and even had her husband paint her room in yellow so it would cheer her up.  She also loved flowers particularly daffodils, so the square just had to be of a flower design in yellow yarn... Learn how to knit lace with this simple Caron Cakes colour block scarf - Free knitting pattern by Lullaby Lodge...

We are very fast approaching autumn and it's time to start thinking about making something to keep us cosy when the weather starts to get colder.  I want to share with you my pattern for this Shetland Lace scarf.  This pattern was previously only available to buy in my online stores and is now available for you here, free on my blog. The Shetland Lace Scarf is worked back and forth on straight needles and is comprised of a variation of the Old Shale stitch.  The lace is created by simple increases and decreases on a 4-row repeat, making this a perfect introduction to lace knitting.  An adventurous beginner could easily master this pattern.  The yarn cake creates a lovely colour block effect, with no need to keep changing colours.  The yarn does all the work for you.   There is also a matching hat pattern which you can find here...
