2020 Spring Scarves & Shawls Roundup - Celebrate spring and make one of these gorgeous lightweight scarves or shawls...

Image
Although the winter has been pretty mild here in Windsor, I think we can really feel the beginning of spring.  The the trees are trimmed with pink blossom and the golden daffodils are bobbing their pretty trumpets in the breeze.  The temperature has also risen too and the sun has been shining, tempting us to take off our coats. With the weather warming, it's time to switch to more lightweight accessories, so I thought I would take a look at scarves and shawls, perfect for spring.  Here are the ones I picked out by my favourite designers... The first is this pretty shawl by Pattern Princess.  She uses a cotton blend yarn, making it a perfect accessory for spring and if you have a whole day to yourself to crochet, can be made in only 8 hours. 8 Hour Cabana Shawl This infinity scarf is a great addition to your spring wardrobe.  Wear it loose on warmer days and double wrap it on cooler ones.  Crocheted in lovely colourful cottons, pattern by Dora Does. Granny Square Beanie - Mini Mother's Day Series Part 3

Image
Hello Friends.  It's time for part 3 of our Mini Mother's Day pattern series and this week continuing on with the granny square theme, we have the Granny Square Beanie.  I'm sure any mother would love this for Mother's Day or you could even make a head start on your Christmas gifts. You can find part 1 and part 2 here... The hat is designed to fit an adult and is quite snug around the brim and slightly slouchie at the top.  4 squares are joined together with ribbing added at the brim and granny stitch shaping at the crown.  It works up pretty fast, making it a great quick and easy gift. I have used Stylecraft Batik Elements DK in the shade Titanium and matched it with Jarol Heritage DK in Winter White.  Although I have used different colours this time, all of the patterns are designed to be a matching set and you can of course use the same colourway for each one. There is an ad free, pdf version of this pattern available in my online stores, thank you

Granny Square Fingerless Mitts - Mini Mother's Day series part 2

Image
Hello everyone, it's time for part 2 of our mini Mother's Day pattern series and this week we have the mitts to match the boot cuffs we made in part 1.  It's another granny square design (you know how I love granny squares) and they are quick and easy to make. The mitts will fit an average adults hands but can be adjusted for bigger or smaller hands by going up or down a hook size.  You could even use less rounds for your squares to make them the right size for a child.  The pattern is easily adjustable. I have used Stylecraft Batik Elements in shade Magnesium and Stylecraft Batik in Cream to make my mitts, but you could use any colours you wish or make in just one colour.  This is a great project to play around with colour, the options are limitless.  I would love to see yours, why not join the  Facebook group  and share your photos or use #lullabylodge on Instagram. As always an ad free pdf version of this pattern is available in my online stores, thank you fo
