Technical issues!

Morning everyone.  Blogger is currently having some technical issues and I am unable to upload any photos and many photos previously uploaded have disappeared.  As a consequence, this weekends post will have to be delayed until the problem has been fixed.  Hopefully this will be rectified soon.  Apologies for the delay. I hope you all are well and I will be back very soon.

Super Easy No Knead Bread - Store Cupboard Recipe

This bread is so simple and can be made from ingredients you already have in your pantry.  The finished loaf is very similar to ciabatta.  It's delicious for sandwiches the day it's baked and perfect for toast or bruschetta the next day.

No kneading is required as the dough is left over night and time does all the work for you.

Easy Peasy No Knead Bread

Ingredients

3 cups flour (bread flour or plain flour)
1½ cups water
1tsp salt
½tsp dried yeast

  • Add all the ingredients to a bowl and mix well.  It should form a very sticky dough, with the consistency of very thick porridge.

  • Cover with cling film or a damp tea towel and leave overnight.  The next morning the dough should look bubbly and frothy.

  • Turn out onto a very well floured work surface and dust the dough and your hands with flour.

  • shape the dough with your hands by gently turning around and under, until if forms a round loaf shape

  • Leave to rest for 30 mins.

  •  Meanwhile heat your oven to 180℃ and put your dutch oven or loaf tin inside to heat up.

  • Scoop up your dough and place in the dutch oven and cook with the lid on for 30 mins.

  • Remove lid and bake uncovered for a further 15 mins.

  • The bread should be golden and crusty when cooked and sound hollow when tapped.

  • Turn out onto a rack to cool

You will now have the most delicious, crusty, country style bread.  Cooking in the dutch oven is what gives this loaf its crust.  You can of course, just cook if in a normal loaf tin or baking sheet, if you don't have one or would like a softer crust.

I hope you will give it a try...

Crochet Along With Me - March

Hello everyone sorry this post is a little late, it should of gone out at the end of March and so without further ado let's take a little look at what has been going on last month...

Useful links...

Crochet Along With Me... (March edition)

So my temperature blanket is coming along nicely, I am really pleased with how it is looking so far and am really excited to see the introduction of new colours as we move into spring.  How are yours looking?  Make sure to share your photos with the Facebook group or use #lullabylodge on  Instagram.

It's getting so big now, it is really starting to look like a blanket and not just scraps of yarn

First few rounds in the warm peachy colour

This month we have been making beanies for our charity CAL and I have enjoyed making these hats.  A few basic beanies and also a smaller version of my Granny Square Beanie, made with smaller squares to fit a child or teen.

I hope these hats will make nice cosy heads.

Have you been joining in?  Have you been making hats to donate?  Make sure you let me know in the comments below...

This month I hosted again at Our Happy CAL Place and I chose a super cute tea cosy for our weekly project.  It was so fun to make, I have never made a tea cosy before so I really enjoyed making something new.  As you can see it features a granny square design (you know I am a sucker for a granny square) and was so quick and easy to make.  If you know someone that loves their tea, this would make a great gift.

Our Happy CAL Place has a new crochet along every week and also every month with different themes, so go on head on over there and check it out.  There is no obligation to join in, you can just take part in the ones your fancy.  It's a lovely friendly group and we all need to feel connected in these current times.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I will see you all again soon.

Simple Soap Sack - Free crochet pattern, part of the 2020 Charity Stash Bash CAL

Hello friends.  It's time for instalment three of our Charity Stash Bash CAL.  If this is your first time here at Lullaby Lodge, you can find out all the crochet along details in the link below...

This month we will be making these cute soap sacks.  Soap is one of the requested items for the shoe box appeal and while sending someone soap as a gift may not seem appealing, adding these cute little cosies, will make bath time more fun for the children.

Make sure to crochet them in lovely bright colours that they will love and remember to leave the packaging on your soap when packing up your shoe box.  I have only removed mine to take the photos, I will be using fresh unopened bars of soap to donate.

These cute soap sacks are so quick and easy to make, you could whip up a whole batch in no time at all.  They use only a few grams of yarn, perfect for using up those last scraps of cotton.  They would also make lovely gifts too, why not get ahead of all your Christmas makes.

An ad free pdf version of this pattern is available in my online stores, thank you for supporting my work...

If you would like to take part and prefer knit over crochet, I have linked some other pattern choices along with more crochet soap sacks for you to make.  Just click the Stash Bash link above for more patterns and information.
